When are visiting hours at Oak Grove Recovery?
Women: Tuesdays, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Men: Thursdays, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Women and men visit on different days.
Who can visit, and how is a visit scheduled?
Visits are scheduled through the patient's counselor. Every visitor must be approved and have a valid Release of Information authorization on file, and patients may also coordinate their approved visitors with their counselor. Visitors sign in, agree to protect other patients' privacy and wear a visitor badge. Bags and items may be checked.
How is family involved in treatment?
Family programming runs every week for family members and other support people. A family session with your clinician can be arranged on request, in person or virtually. Family can join programming once you've signed a release of information.
Where do visitors park?
Visitors may park in any available space in the facility's private parking lot. The facility is at 690 Cooper Road, Westerville, OH 43081.
Where should patients park when they arrive for treatment?
Patients who leave a vehicle onsite during treatment should park toward the back of the lot, as their vehicle may remain there for an extended period.
How do I pick up my loved one's belongings?
Personal belongings may be picked up at the front desk. Pickup from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. is preferred. Accommodations may be available outside these hours when needed.

How does addiction treatment work at Oak Grove Recovery?
Your recovery journey starts the moment you reach out. We begin with a personal intake process where we take the time to understand your background, challenges, and goals. From there, we build a care plan that may include medical detox, residential treatment, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and long-term support — all delivered in a caring, judgment-free environment.
What types of care do you offer?
We support recovery with a continuum of care: medical detox to safely manage withdrawal symptoms in a supportive setting; residential treatment in a structured, therapeutic environment with 24/7 care; medication-assisted treatment (MAT) — Suboxone, buprenorphine (Subutex), and Vivitrol, combined with counseling and behavioral therapy; and aftercare services for ongoing support as you transition back into everyday life.
What should patients bring with them to treatment?
Pack what helps you feel most comfortable, and we'll take care of the rest. Bring comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing (shirts, pants and shoes are worn at all times), closed-toe shoes for daily group activities, alcohol-free toiletries in unopened packaging, prescription medications in their original packaging, a journal, book or therapeutic material, and sealed snacks if you like. Laundry detergent is provided. Please leave valuables and alcohol-containing products at home. Our admissions team can provide a detailed packing list.
These items aren't allowed:
- anything containing alcohol, such as perfume, cologne and some lotions
- aerosols
- razors, nail clippers and other sharp items
- nail polish and mirrors
- hair dryers and flat irons
- candles
- energy drinks and pre-workout
- glass items
- refillable vapes
- anything not in its sealed original packaging
Clothing with drug, alcohol, gang or explicit themes isn't allowed. If you're missing something, that's not a reason to stay away — tell admissions and they'll help you sort it out.
Can I bring my phone?
Yes. Phones, laptops, tablets and other devices with cameras are stored securely during your stay to protect everyone's privacy. Calls with people you've authorized are scheduled around treatment activities.
Can I bring my own medications?
Yes. Bring them in the original, labeled packaging. At admission the attending provider reviews everything you bring, including vitamins, supplements and over-the-counter products, and decides what continues during your stay.
Can family send mail or drop things off?
Yes. Family and friends can send mail and packages or drop items off. Letters and packages may be opened in front of you to check for items that aren't allowed, but staff never read your letters.
Can I smoke or vape?
Yes, at set times in designated areas, with staff supervision. Your nicotine products are stored securely between those times, and lighters stay with staff. Refillable vapes and vape juice aren't allowed.
Will you tell callers I'm here?
No. Staff won't confirm that anyone is a patient without that person's written authorization.
Can my family get updates?
Only with your written consent naming who can receive information and for what purpose. A general consent doesn't cover family; you sign a specific consent for each person.

Do you accept Medicaid?
Yes. Oak Grove Recovery accepts Ohio Medicaid, making addiction treatment accessible to more people in our community. If you have questions about your coverage or paying for treatment, our admissions team is available 24/7 to walk you through the process.
What types of therapy do you provide?
We offer a range of evidence-based therapies designed to support the whole person: cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, trauma-informed therapy, life skills training, and individual, group, and family therapy that build trust and connection within yourself and your support system.
Can you help with mental health concerns, too?
Yes. Many of our clients live with both a substance use disorder and a mental-health condition like anxiety, PTSD, depression, or bipolar disorder. We treat co-occurring conditions with respect and care, helping you heal on every level.
Can you meet dietary needs?
Yes. A registered dietitian approves the menus. Gluten-free, diabetic, lactose-free and vegetarian options are available, and you can ask for an alternative at every meal. Cultural and religious needs are accommodated.
Do you admit pregnant women?
Yes. Pregnant women are prioritized for evaluation. If you have an OB provider, care is coordinated with them throughout the stay. When opioid use is involved, medication treatment is used where indicated.
Is help available for language or disability needs?
Yes. Language assistance is provided for people with limited English, and reasonable accommodations are made for disabilities. You can ask out loud or in writing, and staff will help.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes. Patients must be 18 or older.
Can prospective patients speak to someone before making a decision?
Of course. You can talk to a member of our admissions team 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whether you need help verifying insurance or simply asking questions, we're here with patience and clarity. Many of our clients call before they're fully ready — that's okay. This is your process, and we'll walk with you every step of the way.
What happens after patients finish treatment?
Recovery doesn't stop when you leave Oak Grove Recovery. Discharge planning starts at admission, and a member of your care team offers to meet with you every week to build a personalized aftercare plan, which may include ongoing therapy or counseling and community resource referrals. Before you leave, the team identifies your next level of care, makes referrals and schedules follow-up appointments when possible, and works to keep your medications going so care isn't interrupted. Before you leave, you receive a written discharge plan, and we stay connected, because healing grows in community.
