Jay is known for his servant leadership style and team-first approach. He believes strong leadership is grounded in humility, clarity, and courage, and he is committed to creating an environment where staff feel supported and patients receive compassionate, high-quality care. By balancing strategic vision with hands-on operational leadership he helps Oak Grove Recovery continue to grow while staying focused on serving our community.

Clinical Director

Katie Gunter, LPCC-S

Katie Gunter is a licensed professional clinical counselor with supervisor endorsement (LPCC-S) who brings extensive experience in trauma-informed and substance use treatment to her role as clinical director at Oak Grove Recovery. She's worked across outpatient, hospital, and community-based settings, supporting adults, adolescents, and families navigating addiction, crisis, and co-occurring mental health disorders.

Throughout her career, Katie has held progressive clinical leadership roles, guiding treatment teams, overseeing individualized care planning, and ensuring high standards of clinical documentation and regulatory compliance. She has extensive experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams—including psychiatrists, case managers, and court systems—to provide comprehensive, coordinated care. Her background also includes discharge planning and crisis intervention, giving her a well-rounded understanding of the full continuum of behavioral health services.

Katie is specially trained in EMDR and integrates internal family systems (IFS), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based approaches into her clinical framework. She has additional training in forensic counseling, crisis and trauma treatment, and religious trauma recovery. Katie is passionate about helping individuals and families heal from complex trauma and substance use disorders while building resilience, accountability, and long-term recovery.

Haja Jobarteh, RN

Haja Jobarteh is a registered nurse and director of nursing at Oak Grove Recovery, bringing more than seven years of progressive experience in detox, psychiatric, and behavioral health settings. With a strong foundation in withdrawal management, medication administration, and patient assessment, Haja is dedicated to fostering safe, structured, and recovery-focused environments for people navigating substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

She oversees nursing operations for detox and residential services, including staff supervision, scheduling, training, and performance development. She ensures compliance with state regulations, facility policies, and accreditation standards while collaborating closely with providers, therapists, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive treatment planning. Her hands-on clinical expertise includes conducting CIWA and COWS assessments, monitoring for withdrawal complications, and responding to crisis situations with skill and composure.
